Thank you for visiting my website.

My name is Federico Olivieri and I am a cultural manager, journalist and researcher.

Since I was a university student, I have worked at the intersections of communication projects, film festivals, academic initiatives and research, as well as the administration of the arts for social change.

Throughout more than eighteen years of professional experience in different countries and continents, I have specialised in the history of African cinemas, the meaning of interculturality and the role of media and culture in sustainable development.

I was born in Milan (Italy) and raised in Southern Spain, and my personal and professional journeys have taken me to live in Seville, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Nairobi, Durban, Dakar, Boston, San Francisco and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I hold a BA in Journalism (2007) from the University of Seville, an MA in Global Media and Post-national Communication (2009) from SOAS, University of London, and a PhD in Political Analysis and Thought, Democracy and Citizens (2016) from the University Pablo de Olavide in Seville, Spain.
